The Recreational Vehicle
Industry Association reported that wholesale shipments of 34,300 units
in April, down 10.2% from the same period in 2006. Towables continue to
show the most softness with YTD sales down 16.3% compared with 2006.
Class A motorhomes were up 12% in April over 2006 and up 5.4% YTD
despite gasoline prices.
In November 2006, the
RVIA reported that U.S. recreational vehicle makers expect shipments to dealers to drop more
than 11 percent to 341,900 in 2007 from an expected 385,500 units in 2006.
